Priority Accounts
Our policy is to ensure that our priority clients never hear a busy signal. We closely monitor the usage on priority lines and order more phone lines and modems BEFORE they are needed.

We will make every effort to ensure that our priority clients can get on the system at any time. We are well aware of the problems that have befallen other providers when the number of users grows too large for the number of incoming lines. If users experience difficulties logging on, then once they do get on, they tend to stay on much longer than needed for fear of not being able to get on again if they should logoff. Well, this only makes the whole situation worse.

If you ever get a busy signal, let us know because something is wrong and we want to fix it.

If you get a ring through, the line rings but does not answer, wait a few minutes and try it again. Occasionally modems do not reset properly after a call terminates or the next call comes before the modem has had time to reset. Our dialup line management software periodically (every few minutes) checks and manually resets the modems to ensure that they do not ring through. If you experience 2 or 3 ring throughs in a row let us know because something is wrong and we want to fix it.

Value Accounts
In many ways the Internet Service Provider (ISP) business is like the movie theater business. At times the theaters are jammed to capacity and at other times they are empty. While the ISP business is not as extreme as this, we are seeking to even out the load on our facilities.

Enter the value account. The value account is our way of making use of excess capacity during off-peak hours and it is your way to get the most value for your dollar. With the value account you can have full access to our lines, except during peak load periods, when priority account clients have first rights to the lines.

If you want unfettered access to the Internet during peak use periods (11 am to 2 pm and evenings) or your want to avoid the inconvenience of waiting or repeatedly trying to logon, then you would be better served with a priority account.

If you are a value account customer and 1) the value account lines are full and 2) there is sufficient available space on the priority lines, then we will transfer your call to a priority line. If there is not sufficient space then your login attempt will be rejected. Because of this, if you have a value account, you should be aware that:

  • You may not get on the system even though the modem answers. We have to answer the line and get a username before we can tell if a priority or value account client is calling.

  • If your call is rejected, you may want to know if it is because we are not accepting value clients on the priority lines. To find out you may set your Internet connection software to bring up a terminal window after dialing. The terminal window will prompt for your username (login:) and then for your password (password:). Between the two we display a message about login status. (Some dialers scroll this information past your screen without you having to explicitly bring up a terminal window.)

  • If your call is rejected, do NOT keep re-dialing. That will needlessly tie up a priority line and make us unhappy. Instead wait one half hour before trying again.

Dedicated Accounts
Each dedicated account has a phone line, modem and IP number reserved for its exclusive use. Active use restrictions do not apply to dedicated accounts. Because a dedicated account has its own IP number a broader range of Internet services can be delivered directly to a computer connected to the Internet via a dedicated account.

Budget Accounts
The Budget Account provides a maximum of 18 hours of Internet access per month. If you go over 18 hours there is a $1.00/hr over-charge. This account is ideal for customers who want to use e-mail only and will use it during off-peak hours.

This account is similar to the value account in terms of accessibility. Please read over the terms of the value account.
