DSL is only available on unloaded copper lines within approximately
3 miles of a DSLAM, either the one at the Qwest Central Office or
a remote location. The only way you can find out if you qualify
is to call us at 389-1303 and we will run a check on your phone line.
You need a computer (of course) and a DSL modem. A modem can
be rented form Qwest for $3.00 per month, or you can purchase
a Actiontec GT701-wg modem from Qwest for $59.99 plus $9.99
for shipping. We sell a much better quality modem for $95.
Coinet does not charge any DSL service setup fee.
Qwest lists a one-time activation fee, however, they almost always
run a special which changes often. Check with us about the
Qwest 'special-of-the-month'.
Qwest's monthly charge is $15 for 256k/256k and $28 for all
higher speeds (the speed you get depends on the quality of
your line).
Coinet's rates begin as low as $16.95 and vary depending
of speed and class of service. See our residential rate
schedule here, and our
business rate schedule here.
Qwest will bill be you for their portion on your regular phone bill.
We have many billing options and periods, you may select one that
is convenient for you when you sign up.
Yes, we provide detailed instructions on our setup CD. Be sure
to call us first as the modem will often arrive before your line
is setup to handle DSL.
NO. Neither Coinet nor Qwest requires a long-term contract.
Call Coinet at 389-1303 and we will get the ball rolling. We will
collect the necessary information, deal with Qwest to get your
line setup and then walk you through the configuration.
